Ashburton Art Gallery and Ashburton Museum

Join in free activities run SAT 12 – SUN 27 APRIL. Design your own Easter egg with inspiration from the exhibitions—whether it’s a character, object, or pattern.Also Postcards from the Past - design World War 2 era postcards from Ashburton, imagining the perspectives of those who served or contributed on the home front. There’s also Secret Sea Messages. Create a symbolic time capsule inside a bottle, telling a story or sharing a secret message. And Mini Wild Woods. Build a 3D scene showing land restoration, contrasting pine trees with native bush or a polluted versus restored river.

They also have free activities on for the school holidays, including an­ Easter Egg Hunt. Hop into Ashburton Library during opening hours these school holidays for the eggcellent Easter egg hunt! Find all 10 eggs to crack the challenge and enter the draw for a giant Easter Egg! On TUES 15 APRIL you can create your own road trip Bingo game from 10.30am­ to 11.30am. Join in the fun, play together and win prizes! On THURS 17 APRIL is­ Easter photo booth craft 10.30am to 11.30am. Hop into the library and take a wacky Easter photo with fun props and Instax camera. Create an eggtastic photo frame so everybunny can enjoy your creation! Book online, limited to 50 places. On TUES 22 APRIL­ Ashburton Library Crazy Town Mascots from 10.30am to 1.30am. Every town needs its own mascot! Get loopy and create one of your own out of recycled materials ­ the crazier, the better! THURS 24 APRIL is­ Anzac Soldier Silhouettes from 10.30am to 11.30am Create a beautiful sunrise silhouette picture of an Anzac soldier using dyes.

EA Networks Centre

Is again offering families a safe and organised school holiday care option, with opportunities for children aged 5­ to 13 to get involved and try new and exciting activities in a fun and supportive environment. Activities include sports, crafts, swimming, field trips to Methven and Christchurch, and more! Booking required. April 14 to 17 and 22 to 24 from 8am­ to 5pm. Cost $40 Full Day/Field Trip: $50. Also on THURS 24 APRIL -­ Family Water Safety programme, from 9am to 11am. Free water safety activities designed with the family.
